Relive the magic of football with the Nottingham Forest home shirt, a tribute to the legendary victory of 1979.
Home jersey Nottingham Forest European Cup Final 1979
Nottingham Forest was a team that had grown in stature as the tournament progressed and the team reached the final against Mälmo as favourites. Although Martin O'Neill and Archie Gemmill, through injury, were unable to participate, Forest had the luxury of introducing the first million pound British footballer to his team for the match. Trevor Francis arrived at the City Ground three months earlier and only became eligible for the final under UEFA rules. The considerable cost of this acquisition seemed well spent when, just before half-time, he cleverly sent in a cross for John Robertson for what would be the only goal of the game. The Swedish team was weak and offered little threat to Forest.
