• Fair Wear Foundation Membership: Odlo is a member, with leadership status, of the Fair Wear Foundation (FWF), which strives to improve working conditions in the textile industry worldwide. FWF monitors producers' compliance with their code of conduct and makes appropriate improvements. As a multi-stakeholder initiative, the independence of the FWF is guaranteed as it is governed by trade unions, NGOs and business associations. Transparency and accountability are key principles of the organisation. FWF members work to improve working conditions in factories that produce sewn textiles around the world. The basis of the collaboration between FWF and its members is its code of labour practice. Eight labour standards form the core of this code of conduct. FWF members are contractually obliged to comply with these standards. FWF monitors company compliance with the code of labour practice through factory audits and complaints procedures, audits of members' management systems and extensive stakeholder consultations in producing countries. FWF shares its (local) knowledge and contacts with its member companies, giving them access to information on local legislation, labour laws and culture. Members are required to implement an effective monitoring system, including factory audits, factory training and factory visits. The FWF has a complaints procedure that allows factory workers to anonymously report abuses related to working conditions. To raise awareness of labor rights, FWF also offers a workplace education program.
