Extreme traction

The tread design and its layout are made to provide extreme traction on the challenging terrains of the most demanding rallies.

The rear tyre focuses on traction, which is why the tread pattern consists of three large blocks with a specific height and spacing, offering traction on soft surfaces.

The side row of this tread pattern works like a claw that digs into the ground and generates excellent traction.

The wide surface of each block offers a large contact area, ensuring grip on hard grounds.

The reinforced structure reduces rotational effects and engages the compound at low temperatures, providing extreme traction on all terrains and in all conditions, at all temperatures and speeds.

Complete control and directionality

The arrangement of the front treads is designed specifically to provide stability during straight lines as well as corners.

The central lugs are characterised by a unique shape that, thanks to their height, the different directions taken by the active edges and their triangular layout, offers maximum traction during braking and stability on soft as well as compact terrains.

The side lugs support the motorcycle in corners and provide a precise trajectory as well as directionality during lean angles, thus ensuring incredible safety.

Total stability

The structure of the KAROO™ Extreme uses a high-modulus/low-shrinkage fibre with a multi-layer carcass that offers a contact feel, stability during braking, and maximum flexibility to absorb forces when jumping or crossing obstacles. It also features a very lightweight structure to promote high-speed stability and excellent handling.

The structure is specially developed for extreme off-road competitions with inner tubes and foams and is designed to be used with heavy and powerful motorcycles in rallies, especially during long specials at high speeds, often in hot seasons and on rapidly changing terrains.

Resistance of treads to tearing and wear

The compound formulation of the KAROO™ Extreme combines natural rubber for mechanical strength and synthetic rubber for resistance to wear and tearing.

The high percentage of carbon black increases resistance to all types of stress, even at high temperatures, typical of desert races, and makes the treads resistant to tearing and premature wear.

On hard terrains, the compound allows the tyre to avoid overheating, thus reducing the risk of explosion or blistering during races.

Thanks to improved flexibility, the structure offers excellent puncture resistance even at low pressures.
