The jerseys of French clubs tell tales from different eras. The ASVEL, born in 1948 from the merger of clubs in Villeurbanne and Lyon, is among the most decorated clubs in the country; Tony Parker became the majority shareholder in 2014. It offers home and away jerseys, as well as a special one for the EuroLeague. Limoges CSP is the first French club, across all sports, to be crowned European champion, on April 15 1993 in Athens, against Treviso. Paris Basketball, founded in 2018, is the youngest of the three: it offers match jerseys, warm-up kits, and children's versions for a young generation of fans.

Some NBA jerseys transcend the time they were worn. The one belonging to Larry Bird, number thirty-three for the Boston Celtics, recalls a player who remained loyal to a single club from 1979 to 1992, a three-time NBA champion, whose number was retired by the franchise. The jersey of Shaquille O'Neal with the Los Angeles Lakers, number thirty-four, evokes the dominance of the centre, a champion for three consecutive years, from 2000 to 2002, alongside Kobe Bryant. These retro jerseys feature the cut and colours of the era: sleeveless, with wide armholes and numbers clearly visible on the front and back. The Lakers model is available in a women’s cut.
For a club, the reversible jersey addresses a practical issue: each player has a light side and a dark side, allowing for two teams to form instantly during training or to avoid a colour clash with the opponent. The Macron model, an Italian club equipment brand, and the adidas Speed Reversible follow this principle, made from double-layer mesh. The Puma teamJaws, as well as the Joma Combi and Kappa Cefalu, can be purchased in club colours and matched with shorts from the same range. A mesh panel under the arms and in the back promotes ventilation during the most intense sessions.
The basketball jersey is sleeveless and cut loose, with wide armholes that allow freedom for shooting and rebounding. For playing, you should choose your usual size: the jersey should hang straight without being baggy and remain tucked into the shorts, as required by FIBA regulations. For casual wear, going up a size offers more comfort. Children's sizes, like the away jersey from ASVEL, should be chosen based on stature rather than age. For care, wash the jersey inside out at thirty degrees, without fabric softener, and air dry to preserve the printing and thermally applied numbers.
The jersey worn by the players is closer to the body, made from lighter and more breathable mesh. The supporter version, more comfortable for everyday wear, retains the colours, logo, and often the printing, with a slightly looser cut.
Your favourite player's number, your own club number, or a significant date. In FIBA competitions, numbers allowed range from zero to ninety-nine, including double zero; check your league's rules before printing a club kit.
It can be used for training, but in matches, players wear their club outfit, which is the same for the entire team. NBA jerseys, often thicker and more decorated, are more suited for supporter wear and casual games.
The tank top allows arms and shoulders to move freely for shooting, passing, and blocking, and limits heat in a high-effort environment. It also prevents the fabric from catching on a defender’s arm during a shot.
The Athens club is among the biggest names in the EuroLeague, which it has won multiple times since the 1990s, and its arena is renowned for its atmosphere. Its green and white jersey, emblazoned with the shamrock, is one of the most recognisable in Europe.
