The support of the classic.
The brief is the tightest men's underwear. With no legs, it frees the thighs and offers the best support, valued both for everyday wear and for sports. It doesn’t ride up under trousers and feels invisible under the closest-fitting clothes. Long overshadowed by the boxer, it still has loyal fans for its lightness and comfort and is making a comeback with brands revisiting wardrobe classics.

The open brief, like the one from Armor-Lux, the Breton knitwear brand, has a front opening, which is traditional and practical. The closed brief, with no opening, offers a cleaner line. The high waist, a classic style, rises to the navel and keeps the lower belly well supported; the low waist, more modern, is worn under low-rise trousers and does not peek out. The mini-brief, which is very high-cut, allows for more freedom of movement for the legs.
Cotton, soft and breathable, remains the go-to material; when mixed with a bit of elastane, it retains its shape. Ribbed knit, like that from Armor-Lux, is flexible and durable. For sports, microfiber dries faster. The brief is chosen according to one's waist size: too small, it constricts and leaves marks; too large, it bunches up. The elastic waistband should stay in place without compressing. Cotton briefs are washed at forty degrees and should be replaced when the elastic stretches out.
Good bargains can also be found in good deals, promotions, clearance, sales, and Black Friday. The new arrivals showcase the latest collections, and items shipped within 24 hours are prepared and sent in 24 hours. The key events of the year follow a consistent order: Black Friday at the end of autumn, the end-of-year holidays, the winter sales, the spring French Days, followed by the summer sales and back-to-school time.
The open brief has a practical front opening and a traditional cut, like the Armor-Lux open brief. The closed brief offers more continuous support and a more modern look.
The brief offers the best support, valued for sports, and does not ride up under trousers. The boxer covers more of the thighs and prevents chafing, but does not hold as firmly.
Choose the size based on the waist measurement: the elastic should hold without marking the skin. A brief that is too small constricts and irritates, while a brief that is too large loses its support and creates wrinkles.
Cotton is soft, breathable and absorbs sweat, which limits irritation. White cotton briefs can generally withstand washes at sixty degrees, recommended for hygiene of undergarments.
Wash them separately from colours, with a bit of sodium percarbonate in the drum. Drying in the sun also brightens the white; avoid bleach, which yellows elastic fibres.
