Our selection of Tempered Glasses includes screen protectors for smartphones: classic tempered glasses, rounded edge, full coverage or with privacy filter, along with our tips for choosing the right model and applying it without bubbles.

A protected screen, without losing readability.

Protecting the screen

The screen is the most fragile and costly part of a smartphone. A drop, a key in the same pocket or sand is enough to crack or scratch it. The tempered glass is a thin sheet of glass that has been thermally treated to be more resistant, applied to the screen. In the event of an impact, it is the one that cracks instead of the screen, and it can be replaced for a fraction of the cost of a repair. It preserves touch sensitivity and display clarity.

Types of glass

The classic tempered glass covers the flat part of the screen. The rounded edges glass follows the curvature of the edges for a seamless finish. The full coverage glass, with a black border, covers the entire screen, right to the edges, for maximum protection. The privacy filter darkens the screen when viewed from the side: only the user facing the phone can see its content, which is handy when travelling. An oleophobic treatment reduces fingerprint marks. You should always choose glass designed for your exact phone model.

Bubbles-free installation

The installation should be done in a dust-free room, ideally after a hot shower which settles airborne particles. You clean the screen carefully with the damp wipe provided, dry it with the microfiber cloth, then remove any remaining dust with the sticker provided. You align the glass with the speakers and camera before placing it in the centre: the adhesion spreads on its own. The small remaining bubbles can be pushed towards the edges with a card. Make sure the case does not lift the edges of the glass.

Frequently asked questions

Tempered glass or hydrogel film: which one to choose?

Tempered glass, which is thicker and more rigid, absorbs shock and cracks instead of the screen. Hydrogel film, which is flexible and thin, conforms to curved screens and protects against minor marks, but absorbs much less impact.

Which tempered glass to choose for a curved screen?

For a screen with rounded edges, choose rounded edges or full-coverage glass that covers the entire surface down to the curves. A classic flat glass would peel off at the edges and leave a border visible.

What is the purpose of a privacy filter?

It darkens the screen as soon as it's viewed from the side: only the user facing the phone can see its content. It's handy on public transport or at the office and slightly reduces perceived brightness.

When should you replace your tempered glass?

Once it is cracked, chipped on an edge or peeling, it no longer protects properly and needs to be replaced. A crack often indicates that it has done its job by absorbing an impact meant for the screen.

Does tempered glass interfere with touch or the fingerprint sensor?

Good quality glass, with the appropriate thickness and designed for the phone model, maintains full touch responsiveness. For fingerprint sensors placed under the screen, check the indicated compatibility before purchase.
