The Jackets and Coats for men page brings together puffer jackets, parkas, waterproof jackets, duffle coats, bomber jackets, and fleece, from Parajumpers, Superdry, JOTT, Lyle & Scott, Fred Perry, Helly Hansen, Alpha Industries, Faguo, Geox, or Regatta.
The piece that defines the silhouette of winter.
The warmth of a down jacket depends on its filling. Down, lighter and more compressible than feathers, is judged by its loft power, expressed in cuin: above 600, it is of good quality, above 800, it is exceptional. Synthetic fillings retain heat better when wet. Lightweight down jackets, like those from JOTT or the Superdry Fuji, are worn under a coat, while hooded models, such as the Parajumpers Pharrell or the Superdry Everest, face the cold on their own.
The parka, long and hooded, like the Faguo Cheverny or the one from Kariban with padded lining, covers the hips and protects from the wind. The overcoat, like the one from Fred Perry, takes on the short, double-breasted jacket style of sailors. The B-15 jacket from Alpha Industries descends from the aviator jackets of the US military from the 1940s, featuring a synthetic fur collar. The thermoreactive jacket from Lyle & Scott changes colour with the temperature.
Waterproof jackets, like the Helly Hansen Dubliner, the Fred Perry Brentham or the Regatta Changing, protect from rain in the city thanks to a membrane and sealed seams. Fleeces, like the Faguo Aubiac or the sherpa Peak Mountain, are worn in transitional seasons or under a jacket. The Mercedes Formula 1 team jackets and tracksuits complete the range for a more sporty look.
The page is organised by type:

Down offers more warmth for a given weight and compresses easily into a bag. Synthetic retains heat better once wet and dries faster: it is suitable for rainy winters and daily commutes in the drizzle.
Expressed in cuin, it measures the volume that down regains after being compressed. Above 600 cuin, the down is of good quality; above 800, it is exceptional and provides the same warmth with less material.
The parka, long and hooded, covers the hips and protects from both wind and rain. The wool overcoat, double-breasted, dresses up a more classic outfit. The short jacket, like those from Alpha Industries, is suited for short trips and transitional seasons.
In the machine, at a maximum of thirty degrees, on a delicate cycle with special down detergent. Then dry it in the tumble dryer on a low heat with two or three tennis balls, which break up clumps of feathers and restore its loft.
Take your usual size and check that there is still room at the shoulders and arms with a thick jumper. A down jacket that is too fitted compresses its filling, which then traps less air and insulates less effectively from the cold.
