The jeans and trousers, at the end of the series.
Nudie Jeans was born in 2001 in Gothenburg, Sweden, around a pair of organic cotton jeans made in worker-friendly factories. The brand offers free repairs for worn jeans in its workshops, extending their life. Its models come in raw denim, unwashed, which develops a unique patina according to the wearer's movements: creases behind the knees, pocket marks, and fading on the thighs. The Lean Dean, fitted, the Steady Eddie, more relaxed, the Gritty Jackson, straight, the Tuff Tony, loose, and the Solid Ollie represent different cuts. Raw denim is washed as little as possible, inside out and in cold water.

The big American brands have shaped everyday trousers. Lee, founded in 1889 in the Kansas by Henry David Lee, made a name with its workwear before becoming a classic, with the straight Brooklyn or the slim MVP. Wrangler launched a cowboy-cut jean in 1947, comfortable in the saddle, which influences its straight cuts. Dickies, established in 1922 in Fort Worth, Texas, remains a reference for work clothing, and its tapered jeans, narrow at the ankle, retain their durability. All three brands share a thick fabric that stands the test of time.
The chino, made from a lighter cotton fabric than denim, provides a smarter look: the Jack & Jones Marco Dave and the North Sails Defender, slim fit, from a brand born in 1957 from sail-making, can be worn at the office and on weekends. The cargo, with its side pockets, comes from military uniforms: the Project X Paris and Payper Wear Worker models, stretchy, capture its practical spirit. Finally, the jogger has left the stadiums: the Nike Tech in technical fleece, the Nike F.C. water-repellent, and the Joma tracksuit accompany you during leisure or daily travel.
The work trouser is judged by its durability: reinforced seams, tool pockets, fabric that withstands wear and tear. The Result Softshell, slim fit, protects against wind and light rain, the WK Designed To Work offers multiple storage options, and the G-Star Rovic with zipped pockets and a three-dimensional cut that follows the knee joint links the construction site to the city. On the responsible denim front, Armedangels, a brand founded in Cologne in 2007, works with organic cotton, like in its skinny Aarjo jeans. Le Temps des cerises, a French brand, and Ariat, with a western spirit, complete the cuts.
The W indicates the waist in inches, and the L the inseam length. Measure a flat pair of jeans that fits well to get your measurements before ordering a new pair.
The friction of the thighs wears the fabric with each step, especially on fitted cuts. Reinforce the area as soon as it becomes thin: a discreet repair can extend the life of the jeans by several years.
Fold them in half lengthwise, aligning the seams, then roll them from the waistband. Jeans and joggers can be stored upright in a drawer this way, without creases and easily visible.
Tailors offer the original hem: they cut above the factory seam and then re-sew it, keeping the faded look of the bottom. For raw denim, expect slight shrinkage after the first wash.
The slim fit is snug from the thigh to the ankle, the straight cut remains consistently wide below the knee. The tapered cut is more comfortable at the thigh, gradually narrowing down to the ankle.
