The private sales of boots and ankle boots bring together, for the duration of the event, high shoes for autumn and winter: breathable ankle boots Geox, thick leather Panama Jack, Chelsea Blundstone, lace-up ankle boots TT.Bagatt and Tamaris, high boots Buffalo, models Groundies, Guess and Les Tropéziennes. Leather, nubuck, suede or vegan material: each pair is chosen according to the weather and the desired look.
A pair for winter, at a reduced price for the duration of the event.
The material of the upper determines the care and water resistance. Smooth leather, like that of Panama Jack or Blundstone, can handle rain if it is regularly nourished with a cream that softens it and revives its colour. Nubuck and suede, with their velvety touch, are more sensitive to moisture: a waterproofing spray applied before the first wear, and then reapplied in the heart of winter, protects them from stains. The vegan leather from Buffalo, made of synthetic material, only needs a damp cloth. As the private sale lasts only a few days, it's better to know in advance which material suits your journeys and the weather in your area.

Geox was founded in 1995 in Montebelluna, Veneto, from an idea by Mario Moretti Polegato: bothered by the heat of his shoes during a trip to Nevada, he drilled holes in their soles to let the air in. The brand then patented a perforated sole combined with a membrane that allows sweat vapour to escape while blocking water. On a boot worn all day, at the office and then on public transport, the foot thus remains drier and more comfortable. The Jaylon and Lamidie boots apply this principle to women's models, the latter in ABX version, lined with a waterproof membrane, and the Serilda boot extends this to a high upper.
A lace-up boot can be adjusted precisely on the instep: it better supports the ankle than a Chelsea boot during long walks and fits both narrow and wide feet. The models TT.Bagatt and the Buffalo Pluto Lace Up adopt this lacing on a rugged sole, while the Timberland Premium six-inch, in waterproof nubuck, remains the standard for work boots adopted in the city. Panama Jack, a brand founded in 1989 with each pair made in Elche, Spain, combines laces and thick leather for harsh winters. To save time each morning, some boots add a side zipper to their lacing.
A high boot is first chosen for the width of its upper, which should wrap around the calf without compressing it: measure the widest part of your calf before ordering. The internal zip makes it easier to put on, especially with fitted uppers. The heel, whether flat or moderate, affects walking comfort: the Buffalo Aspha boots, in vegan leather, rely on a thick sole rather than a thin heel, and the Geox Serilda provides stable support on wet pavements. To keep a high boot upright and wrinkle-free, store it with a boot tree or a rolled-up cardboard inside.
Canvas models dry quickly but are not waterproof: under heavy rain, water eventually seeps through. For wet winter, choose a leather or treated waterproof version; the rubber lug sole grips well on wet cobblestones.
Wear them at home first, in short sessions, with thick socks. A nourishing cream softens the leather, and a boot tree left inside overnight helps the upper shape to the foot without hurting it.
A bootie stops below the ankle or just above, lower than a boot, making it lighter and easier to slip on. It is suitable for mild autumn days when a taller upper would be too warm.
Remove the insole, fill the upper with absorbent paper and let it dry at room temperature, away from the radiator which hardens and cracks the leather. Once dry, nourish the leather to restore its flexibility.
Opt for a lined and waterproof boot, with a non-slip sole and a zip or Velcro fastening so they can put them on by themselves. The Blundstone child boot, without laces, slips on in seconds thanks to its elastic sides.
