The Women's Hiking T-shirts and Tank Tops page showcases technical t-shirts, tank tops, base layers, and long-sleeve merino tops from adidas Terrex, Rab, Mammut, Dynafit, Regatta, Ternua, Trespass, Peak Mountain, or Preston: lightweight, breathable tops designed for the female shape, from summer strolls to windy ridges.
Lightweight, breathable, and tailored for them.
Technical hiking t-shirts, like the Rab Wisp, the adidas Terrex Mountain, the Trespass Vickland, or the Regatta Fingal, use lightweight synthentic fabrics that wick away sweat and dry in just a few minutes in the air, where cotton stays soaked on the back under the pack. The stretch versions, like the Regatta Fingal Stretch, move with you without pulling at the shoulders when you raise your arms to grip a rock. The women's cuts fit around the waist and stay in place under the pack belt, and the offset seams prevent chafing from the straps. The simple and lightweight technical t-shirt Peak Mountain makes a good first purchase for summer.
Tank tops, like the Rab Wisp, the Dynafit Sky, or the 4F tank top, are great for warm hikes, forest outings, and fast hiking, when maximum ventilation is a must. The Dynafit Sky, from a brand born from ski touring and trail running, features a very lightweight fabric that doesn't cling to the skin. Racerbacks expose the shoulder blades and let the arms move freely, with wide armholes providing better ventilation under the pack straps. On bare shoulders, sun cream is essential at altitude, where the sun burns more quickly than in the plains.
The long-sleeved t-shirt Tree Wool from Mammut combines equal parts merino wool and lyocell, a fiber made from wood, for a soft base layer that regulates temperature, controls odours, and dries faster than pure merino. The Preston Performance Sun, with a UPF protection factor of forty, shields the arms from the sun at altitude without needing to reapply cream. The zip-up base layer from Peak Mountain can be worn under a fleece when it’s cold, unzipped on the way up to ventilate. The long-sleeved Ternua Krodina rounds out the choice for cool mornings. A technical t-shirt can be washed at thirty degrees, without fabric softener.
Women's textiles extend to parkas and down jackets, windbreakers and jackets, sweatshirts and fleeces, tops, bras, trousers, shorts, socks, shirts, on the women's textiles page.
The new arrivals showcase the latest collections, the offers feature discounted items, and the clearance has end-of-line products. Items shipped within 24 hours are prepared and dispatched in a day.
Merino limits odours and can be worn for several days without washing, an advantage when on the move. Synthetic dries faster and withstands chafing from straps better: many female hikers take both.
The t-shirt protects the shoulders from the sun and from chafing by the straps. The tank top, more breathable, is suitable for short outings or in the forest, with sun cream applied to the shoulders.
A lightweight synthetic fabric dries in a few minutes when air-dried: spread it over the pack during a break or hang it up when you arrive. Avoid leaving it rolled up and damp at the bottom of the pack.
A technical t-shirt should fit close to the body without being tight: the fabric should touch the skin to wick away sweat. If you're between sizes, choose the smaller size for a base layer and the larger size for a t-shirt worn alone.
Wash it promptly after use, inside out and at thirty degrees, without fabric softener that traps bacteria in the fibres. Soaking it in vinegar water removes stubborn odours; merino, on the other hand, retains much less.
