The small gear for padel players, at reduced prices.
The choice of bag mainly depends on the number of rackets and the time spent at the club. The paletero, the Spanish word for padel bag, holds two or three rackets in an insulated compartment, with a pocket for shoes and another for change of clothes: it's the format of the adidas Control and Tour, Bullpadel Vertex and Advance, the Head CCT or the Cuera Oncourt. The backpack, like the Nox Pro, Luxury Open Series and AT10 Team or the Black Crown Magic, carries one or two rackets and frees the hands for cycling. The wheeled bag adidas Stage Tour, larger in size, is for players who play in tournaments over several days.

The insulated compartment, lined with a reflective sheet, protects the racket from temperature fluctuations. The core of a padel racket is made of rubber, EVA or FOAM, sandwiched between two layers of fiberglass or carbon: if left in a car boot in the middle of summer, it softens and loses its responsiveness, and in freezing cold it hardens and transmits more vibrations to the arm. The balls, which are pressurized, also react to heat. A closed paletero, placed in the shade, keeps everything at a stable temperature between matches. Finally, avoid storing a damp racket there: water can eventually peel the coating off the frame.
The overgrip wraps over the original grip, from the bottom of the handle upwards, with each turn overlapping the previous one by about a third of its width. Thin and absorbent, it retains sweat and should be changed as soon as it becomes smooth or frayed. The adidas overgrips come in packs of three, while the Znake Grips Viper Sticky come in packs of five, featuring a sticky texture that adheres to the palm even in high heat. The replacement grip, like the Dunlop Tour Pro, thicker and more cushioning, is placed directly on the handle when the original grip is worn out. Layering a second overgrip thickens the handle, a common trick among players with larger hands.
The frame protection, an adhesive strip similar to that of Starvie, is applied to the top of the racket, the area that rubs against the synthetic grass and hits the glass during low recoveries. It prevents paint chips and fiber cracks, and is replaced as soon as it starts to peel off. To combat sweat, the sweatbands Varlion Pro and Classic stop the sweat running down the forearm before it reaches the overgrip, while the Varlion headband holds it at the forehead. The microfiber towel Padel Mon Amour, lightweight and quick-drying, fits into the paletero for wiping during side changes. These clearance items allow you to replace frequently worn accessories in advance.
A pack of overgrips, a frame protection or sweatbands make useful gifts, as they wear out and need replacing often. For a bigger gift, an insulated paletero will accompany the player to every match.
A player practicing twice a week changes their overgrip every two to three weeks or so, more often if they sweat a lot. A smooth overgrip forces a tighter grip, which can tire the forearm and elbow.
It's on a new racket that it is most useful: applied before the first matches, it absorbs abrasions against the ground and impacts against the glass instead of the frame. It adds a few grams to the racket head.
Empty it after each session to remove shoes and damp clothing, then leave it open to dry. Stains can be removed with a sponge and soapy water, without machine washing, which would damage the insulating lining.
Prepare two rackets, spare overgrips, new balls, a towel, change of clothes and plenty of water. An insulated paletero keeps everything safe from the heat during long days of matches.
