The Time of Cherries was founded in Marseille in 1998 by Lylian Richardière, who draws inspiration from the culture of the 1980s and vintage spirit. The brand made a name for itself with jeans featuring crafted wash effects and worn finishes before expanding its cuts. The Pulp model, one of the best-known, shapes the silhouette thanks to an elastic fabric and a well-designed back cut. The wide leg Wilma falls loosely to the ground, while the flare flares out below the knee. The seven-eighths cut, shortened above the ankle, reveals the lower leg and avoids the need for shorter sizes to have the hem taken up.

Ariat, an American brand founded in California in 1993, born from the world of horseback riding, applies Western codes to denim. Its Rocker jeans in stackable cut feature a deliberately longer straight leg: the excess fabric gathers in folds above the boot instead of riding up when sitting in the saddle. This principle is reminiscent of the bootcut style, slightly flared at the bottom to fit over a boot shaft, also originating from the same world. In the city, the important aspect is its length: it should be chosen longer than usual, as the fold effect is intentional. The stretchy fabric of this model maintains the comfort needed for riding as well as for walking.
Lee was born in 1889 in Salina, Kansas, when Henry David Lee founded a trading company that eventually produced its own durable work clothes, overalls, and jackets. The brand then established itself among the major names in American denim, and its jeans made their way into the city in the mid-twentieth century. Today, the Lee Slim Fit MVP offers men a fitted leg without being tight, while the Stella, for women, adopts a trapeze cut that gradually widens from the knee to the hem. Like all denim, a Lee jean is rarely washed, and when it is, it should be done inside out and in cold water to preserve the depth of its colour.
The production of a pair of jeans consumes a lot of water and chemicals, from the growing of cotton to dyeing and washing. Armedangels, a brand founded in Cologne in 2007, has built its offering on organic cotton, cultivated without pesticides or synthetic fertilizers, and on more sustainable finishing processes. Its Baarly barrel cuts, Mairaa and Lejaani mom cuts, or Enijaa wide leg, show that responsible denim can also follow trends. With Nudie Jeans, the approach is about longevity: repairing, reselling, and recycling worn jeans. For buyers, the most effective action remains washing jeans less often, in cold water, and wearing them for a long time.
A high-waisted cut, straight or flare, worn to the ground, lengthens the leg. Seven-eighths lengths or models available in multiple lengths avoid the need to have the hem taken up and keep the line of the silhouette intact.
Cotton fibers tighten under the effect of hot water and the tumble dryer. Most jeans are now pre-shrunk in factories, but washing in cold water and air drying further limits length loss.
You measure the inseam of trousers that fit well, from the centre seam to the hem, then compare it to the indicated length. For a slim cut, the hem lightly brushes the top of the foot; for a straight cut, a slight break remains elegant.
The blue comes from indigo, a dye known since ancient times that colours the threads on the surface without penetrating the core of the fiber. This surface dyeing explains why jeans lighten in the areas of wear and take on their patina.
The Nike Tech Fleece is a double-sided fleece, smooth on the outside and soft on the inside, which retains warmth without the thickness of a traditional tracksuit. The trousers are distinguished by their fitted cut, tapered at the ankles.
