A training circuit consists of six to ten stations with little rest in between, each worked on for a fixed duration, often thirty to forty-five seconds. To keep it balanced, we alternate between pushing exercises like push-ups, pulling exercises done with a resistance band Sveltus secured to a stable point, a leg exercise, and a core exercise. Cones Kuebler Sport define each station and also serve as full workshops: shuttles, slaloms, side steps. By arranging the stations in a circle, you can move from one to the next without wasting time, completing a full round before resting for one to two minutes.
The French Days also include indoor options:

The HIIT, which stands for high-intensity interval training, alternates very short efforts pushed almost to the maximum with brief recoveries. The most well-known format, the Tabata protocol, drawn from the work of Japanese researcher Izumi Tabata in the 1990s, consists of eight times twenty seconds of effort and ten seconds of rest. Burpees, high knees, jump squats, and sprints between two cones fit in well with this style. This intensity raises the heart rate quickly: it's reserved for those already fit, no more than twice a week, and light clothing is maintained, like polyester Hummel t-shirts and shorts that dry during recovery periods.
A cross-training shoe serves a different purpose than a running shoe. A running shoe cushions repeated impacts directed forward, featuring a thick and often elevated heel; whereas a cross-training shoe aims for stability in all directions, with a lower and wider sole that keeps the foot in contact with the ground under load or during a lateral jump. The adidas Dropset, available for both men and women, has a firm heel for squats and a flexible forefoot for lunges and jump rope. It should be chosen in your usual size, with a snug heel fit: a foot sliding in the shoe can fatigue the ankles during quick movements.
Without equipment, you can progress by manipulating other factors instead of just weights. First is the tempo: taking three or four seconds to descend into a squat or a push-up makes the exercise significantly tougher. Next is the range of motion: a deeper lunge or push-up with feet elevated increases the workload. Finally, you can try one-legged variations, like the Bulgarian squat, and add a resistance band, placed under the feet or around the thighs, which adds difficulty at the end of the movement. It's helpful to keep a record of your sessions to increase only one parameter at a time from week to week, and always have at least one rest day between sessions that target the same muscles.
A complete session lasts thirty to forty-five minutes, including warm-up and cool down. The main part of the circuit often lasts fifteen to twenty-five minutes, divided into three to five rounds depending on the level and number of stations.
A gentle daily activity, like mobility work or brisk walking, is fine. However, intense strength or HIIT sessions require recovery days; otherwise fatigue builds up and the risk of injury increases.
It's better to sip water between rounds rather than drink a large amount at once. For a one-hour session, water is sufficient; sports drinks are only necessary for longer workouts or in hot weather.
A breathable t-shirt, shorts or leggings that allow for knee bends, a supportive sports bra for women, and stable shoes are all you need. Avoid thick cotton, which traps sweat, and bring a small towel.
Yes, as long as the exercises are adapted: knee push-ups, partial squats, and short-duration planks. You can gradually increase the number of repetitions, and it's advisable to seek medical advice if restarting after a long break.
