The MMA clearance brings together end-of-line mixed martial arts products: combat gloves, sparring gloves and grappling gloves, shin guards with foot protection, elbow pads, knee pads, mouthguards and fightwear, from Metal Boxe, Venum, RDX, Joyagear, Kwon or adidas. It's everything you need to equip yourself for striking, wrestling and ground, from the first class to regular sparring.
Equip yourself for MMA, at a better price.
MMA gloves leave the fingers free for gripping, but their padding varies depending on the use. The combat gloves, around four ounces, like the Metal Boxe The Claw, are thin and light: they are used for technical work and supervised fights. The sparring gloves, like the Metal Boxe The Shell, thicker, protect the partner during training exchanges while allowing for grappling. The grappling gloves adidas, with very little padding, protect the knuckles during ground work with light strikes. A good glove should allow the thumb to close the fist, with the strap tightly secured around the wrist.
The MMA clearance sale is organised by type:
MMA shin guards, like the Metal Boxe Legacy, are thinner and more flexible than those used in Muay Thai: they cover the shin and the instep without hindering guard passes on the ground. The elbow pads in neoprene and the knee pads Metal Boxe cushion impacts with the mat and support the joint during grappling phases. The mouthguard is essential as soon as you strike: a thermoformable model, like those from Safejawz, moulds to the teeth in hot water, and Kwon offers a version for children. The cup completes the gear, even for light sparring.
The clearance sale extends to other sports: football, running, lifestyle, bikes, motorcycle, handball, basketball, equestrian, camping, on the clearance page.
The fight shorts have side slits for kicking freely, without pockets or fastenings that snag. The rash guard, a fitted top in stretchy material, wicks away sweat, protects against mat burns and stays in place during ground grappling; the compression leggings complete the grappling outfit. Venum, a brand founded in 2006 by Franck Dupuis and André Vieira, became the official supplier of the UFC, the major American MMA league, in 2021: the Venum UFC Fight Night t-shirt features the line worn by fighters as they enter the octagon.
MMA, or mixed martial arts, combines stand-up strikes, throws and ground fighting, drawn from boxing, wrestling, judo or Brazilian jiu-jitsu. It has been allowed and regulated in France since 2020, under the supervision of the boxing federation.
Clubs offer educational classes for children and teenagers, without striking to the face and with enhanced protection. Full contact is reserved for adults after supervised training.
It takes years of training at a club, followed by amateur fights to gain experience. Progression then moves through regional organisations, before hoping to join a major league.
Gloves are chosen by measuring around the hand at the level of the knuckles without the thumb, following the manufacturer’s guide. The glove should wrap the closed fist without compressing the fingers.
You should open them and let them dry in the air after each session, never keep them in the bag. Fabric under-gloves absorb sweat, and a glove deodoriser sanitises the inside.
