Bicycle and cycling gear clearance sale

The Bikes clearance includes end-of-line cycling products: spare parts Shimano, tyres Schwalbe, Maxxis and Continental, helmets Met, locks Abus, lights Beryl, child seats Shotgun, clothing Elite Lab and accessories for road, mountain or city use. These items will not be restocked, so check compatibility before anything else.

A part, a jersey or a helmet from a previous series, at a more affordable price.

Cleats, pads, hub: checking the compatibility of a part

A spare part is first chosen according to its standard. For cleats, Shimano distinguishes two systems: the SPD-SL cleats, with three screws for road pedals, come in blue with two degrees of lateral freedom, while the SPD cleats with two screws, supplied with mountain bike and indoor bike pedals, offer about four degrees of play. The brake pads are identified by the caliper reference; resin brakes smoothly and quietly, while sintered metal lasts longer in rain and mud. The Nexus integrated gear hub houses eight gears in the rear wheel, protected from splashes, making it ideal for a city bike.

End of range bikes

The bike clearance sale is organised by type:

Mips helmet, laser lights, foldable lock: riding safely

The Met Rivale Mips helmet features a thin layer that slides a few millimetres during an oblique impact, reducing the rotations transmitted to the brain; like all helmets sold in Europe, it meets the EN 1078 standard. The Beryl Laserlight Core lighting combines a white front light with a laser that projects a green bike on the road, about six metres in front of the wheel, to alert drivers who have the cyclist in their blind spot. The foldable lock Abus Granit, supplied with its frame mount, folds into articulated hardened steel bars and can be transported without cluttering the bag.

Other sports on clearance

Clearance is also available in other sports: football, running, lifestyle, motorcycle, handball, equestrian, camping, on the clearance page.

Child seat, bike rack, home trainer: end of range equipment

The child seat Shotgun fixes onto the top tube of a mountain bike, in front of the cyclist: it accommodates children aged two to five, weighing up to twenty-two kilos, who can see the path and share the sensations. It fits straight or sloping frames but is not suitable for road bikes or electric bikes. The boot-mounted bike rack P2R, made in France, carries three bikes using its six straps, without a towbar. For winter, the Elite adapter allows you to mount a thru-axle bike on the brand's home trainer Suito, while the Crono CX bottle holder, made of composite material, holds the bottle firmly on bumpy paths.

Frequently asked questions

How do I choose the size of my bike frame?

You measure your inseam height, barefoot against a wall, and then apply the coefficient for the type of bike indicated by manufacturers. The S, M, or L correspondences are indicative: between two sizes, a smaller frame handles better, while a larger frame is more stable.

Why does my bike make noise when riding?

A clicking sound often comes from a dry chain or a badly adjusted derailleur, while a creaking noise can result from a pad rubbing against the disc. First, clean and lubricate the drivetrain; if the noise persists, cable adjustment or bearing checks are necessary.

How do I store bikes in a garage?

Wall hooks suspend each bike by the front wheel, freeing up the floor; a ceiling-mounted support with pulleys is suitable for narrow garages. Avoid leaving a bike for months on deflated tyres, which can deform.

How do I read the size of a bike tyre?

The sidewall carries the ETRTO standard, like 42-622, which gives the width and then the diameter of the bead in millimetres, often with an old notation in inches. The diameter must exactly match the rim, while the width can vary within the accepted range.

How does an electric bike with a hub motor work?

The motor housed in the rear hub drives the wheel directly, without straining the drivetrain. The Mahle X35 system weighs about three and a half kilos, including the battery, and accepts a bottle-shaped supplementary battery to extend autonomy.
