Running clearance

The Running clearance brings together the end-of-line products for running: training and competition shoes, vests, t-shirts and running shorts, for men, women and juniors. You can find the Adizero, Duramo and Runfalcon ranges from adidas, the highly cushioned Skechers, the wide forefoot Topo Athletic, and the technical fabrics from Craft.

The previous generation of a shoe, often very similar to the new one, at a more affordable price.

Adizero, Hyperboost, Duramo: which adidas shoe for what use

The adidas range covers all levels of practice. The Adizero Adios Pro is a competition shoe designed for the marathon: its Lightstrike Pro foam is reinforced with carbon rods, the EnergyRods, which stiffen the forefoot and propel the stride. The Adizero Evo SL uses the same foam without the rods, for fast sessions as well as daily training. The Hyperboost Run, built on the Hyperboost Pro foam, focuses on cushioning and bounce for long runs. The Duramo SL and Runfalcon, simpler options, are suitable for beginners and regular jogs, with the ATR version adding a grippy sole for trails.

Running clearance sales

The running clearance is organised by audience and type:

Topo Athletic, Skechers, Puma, Nike: different approaches to cushioning

Outside of adidas, each brand has its own vision of running shoes. Topo Athletic, founded in 2013 by Tony Post, who has a background at Vibram, designs shoes with a wide forefoot that allows toes to spread naturally. The Skechers Max Cushioning, like the Endeavour, features a thick sole for cushioning long runs on asphalt. The Puma Deviate Nitro combines nitrogen-injected foam with a carbon plate, designed for threshold sessions. The Nike Vomero remains a highly cushioned training shoe, popular with heavier runners or those doing high mileage. The Chinese brand 361°, whose name adds a degree to the complete circle, offers the Kairos for women, among other models.

Sleeveless top, t-shirt, briefs: running apparel in clearance

Running clothing is chosen based on temperature and distance. The sleeveless top adidas Adizero, made from a light and breathable mesh, is suitable for summer runs and competitions, while the Essentials, simpler options, are good for jogging. The t-shirt Craft Squad Go Function, from the Swedish brand founded in 1977, wicks sweat away from the skin to keep it dry. The competition briefs Joma Olimpia, designed for women's athletics, fit the body without uncomfortable seams. For all these pieces, cotton is avoided, as it retains sweat, becomes heavy, and leads to irritation over time.

Frequently asked questions

What drop should I choose for running shoes?

The drop measures the height difference between the heel and forefoot, ranging from zero to about twelve millimeters. Around eight to ten millimeters is suitable for most runners; a low drop is reserved for those who land on midfoot, with a gradual transition.

How should I dress for running in winter?

Dress as if it's ten degrees warmer: you should feel a bit cold at the start. Tights, a long-sleeved breathable top, and a windbreaker are often enough, paired with a beanie and thin gloves when it’s freezing.

How can I tell if my stride is neutral or pronated?

The wear on old shoes provides a clue: a worn sole on the inner edge indicates significant pronation. A gait analysis with a podiatrist can confirm the diagnosis, with most runners finding a neutral shoe comfortable.

How many kilometres before I should change my running shoes?

On average, count six hundred to eight hundred kilometres for a training shoe, less for a very lightweight competition shoe. A compressed sole or unusual pains indicate it’s time to replace them.

How can I progress in running as a beginner?

Consistency matters more than intensity: three short runs a week are better than one long one. Start by alternating running and walking, then gradually increase the duration while keeping a pace that allows you to talk.
